In the XVIIth century, a vast number of artists went by the names of De Hoogh, De Hooch or other ways of writing:
They all worked in The Hague.
- Gerrit de Hooch (? - The Hague 1678)
- Dirck Cornelis de Hoogh ( The Hague 1613 - Köningsberg in or after 1651)
- Romeyn de Hooghe (Amsterdam 1645 - Haarlem 1708)

Gerrit is Eliseus de Hoogh's and Josyana Maria de Hoogh's father and therefore one of Jacob's ancestors. At this moment the exact relation between all the De Hooghs isn't clear.
